2 fraudsters bag 110 years in jail

Two men who defrauded some people of various sums of money in a job scam have been sentenced to 110 years imprisonment by a court in Kano.
Two Internet fraudsters, Emmanuel Moyi and Victor Ali Ishaya, have been jailed for 110 years by Justice J. K. Omotosho of the Federal High Court sitting in Kano State, for allegedly obtaining money by false pretence.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) reports on its website that while Moyi was jailed for 60 years, Ishaya got a sentence of 50 years following their conviction on six-count charges bordering on conspiracy and fraud.
The convicts, according to the anti-graft agency, were arrested after some of their victims petitioned the EFCC that they obtained several sums of money from them under the guise that they were going to give them employment and contract.
The convicts were first arraigned on May 16, 2016, and they pleaded guilty to all the charge read against them.
In his Judgement, Justice Omotosho convicted and sentenced Moyi to 10 years imprisonment on each of the six count charges while Ishaya also got 10 years on each of five count charges.
