Beat of Lagos 2016 (The Carnival) Kiss Daniel, Dammy Krane, Terry Apala and more gave Lagos a memorable experience

The Beat of Lagos 5.0 concert lived up to its billing as one where you would come to and feel the 'beat' with a lot of dancing and partying away.


The Beat of Lagos 5.0 was held on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Muri Okunola Park, Victoria Island, Lagos. Here's how it all went down at the annual music concert showcase.The music event hosted by comedian Pencil had a variety of artistes rock the stage. In between there was a lot of turning up in dancing and partying to the 'turnt' mixes of the DJs including DJ Caise among others.Unarguably, the major highlight of the show was Kiss Daniel winning an award for Song of the Year for 'Mama' courtesy Adrion homes. According to them, and music lovers, 'Mama' was the song that made everyone dance all year. The singer was on hand to receive the award and then went on to serenade the fans with his string of hit songs - 'Woju', 'Raba', 'Laye', 'Sin city', 'Jombo' and of course 'Mama'. He then had a contest where he brings on three gorgeous ladies to dance on stage. Reminisce was also out to play, as the fans went wild on sighting him, dropping his hit songs back to back - 'Local rapper', 'Asalamalekun', 'Kako bi chicken', and a host of others.Dammy Krane came with his typical energy and rocked with his songs, performing 'Izzue', and ushers in 'the future of Nigerian music' as he rightly called him - Terry Apala.Apala showed off his unique artistry with his voice and swag performing his single 'Champagne showers' and more from his catalog.CDQ was in the building as well, giving a showstopping performance, thrilling the crowd with his popular hit songs. Rayce also came and did his thing as well as Mr 2kay performing 'In the morning' among other songs. Former Chocolate City rapper Milli performed his latest 'Wickedest' track, and got the crowd pumped up with his stage persona. Other artists on showcase include Iceberg Slim, Minjin, Kola Soul among others.The show wrapped up at about 11pm and overall the fans would testify that the concert lived up to its billing with a lot of dancing and partying away. Despite a few glitches here and there, the show's entertainment value couldn't be denied.
