The Wife of the President, Mrs Aisha Buhari, has conducted a free medical outreach to the people of Sokoto State in an effort to address healthcare crisis in the state.

of Speaker House of Representative, Hajia Gimbiya Dogara represented
Mrs Buhari at the ceremony held Primary Health Care Clinic, Kofar Kade,
on Monday in Sokoto.
Buhari explained that the medical outreach was a show of humanitarian gesture to fight malaria crisis in the state.
She
said the programme covered blood pressure check, cervical cancer test,
medical laboratory services for blood sugar test and immunisation.
Mrs
Buhari said that the project was also designed to complement the State
Government efforts on combating the menace of malaria, which claimed
several lives recently in the state.
“I care for you, I care for your health, I care for your wellbeing and I also assure your future is assured,” she said.
According to her, the programme also serves as a gift to the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Abubakar III, to commemorate his 10th anniversary.
Mrs
Buhari added that the programme was especially for women and children
who are vulnerable to deadly infectious diseases and outbreak of malaria
in the state.
The wife of the state governor, Hajiya Mairo Tambuwal, said that the programme was available for all those interested in having their health properly checked.
“Cleanliness
is next to Godliness, therefore we need to sanitise our environment,
help our children learn how to wash their hands all the time.
“We have to help ourselves before the government can help us,” she said.
Tambuwal commended the wife of the President for her humanitarian gesture to the people of the state.
