An eight-man armed robbery gang has reportedly killed a decorated police officer during a shootout.
A celebrated sergeant attached to the Inspector General of Police (IG) Special Intelligence Response Team (SIRT), has been shot and killed on Monday, November 14, in the line of duty.
A gallant police officer celebrated for his feat at the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) in Lagos prior to his transfer to the SIRT in Abuja, the deceased, Felix Igbasan, was reportedly shot during a gun battle with an eight-man armed robbery gang.According to the reports, Igbasan and his team members were engaged in a shootout with the gang who had reportedly robbed a senior immigration officer in Abuja.
Instablog9ja reports that the robbers were later apprehended with four AK47 rifles recovered.
The team said that Igbasan's contributions in terms of high risk operations in Lagos at SARS and IRT in Abuja, were simply too numerous to mention.
