Didier Ndong Sunderland midfielder sent home from Gabon camp

Didier Ndong has been suspended from the Gabon national team for failing to turn up for training.

Sunderland midfielder Didier Ndong has been sent home from Gabon camp after failing to turn up in camp.
Ndong who has eight caps for Gabon was supposed to report to camp on Tuesday, November 8 ahead of Gabon’s 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Mali on Saturday, November 12.
As at Wednesday, the midfielder was not seen in camp despite being spotted in Gabon capital of Libreville since Monday.
The Gabonese Football Federation (FEGAFOOT) released a statement to announce the decision to suspend the 22-year-old from the national gteam.
The player concerned has also not posted on social media that he would not be able to join the group this Tuesday,” the statement read.
FEGAFOOT (Gabon Football Federation) is, therefore, surprised that by Wednesday afternoon the player has not responded to his obligations of selection, nor informed the federation of possible trouble that had come to him.
All his other teammates at the time had already joined the camp without exception.
Consequently, it was decided in agreement with the technical staff to inform the Sunderland player that he has been sent back to England from this Wednesday.
FEGAFOOT reserves the right to take other measures imposed in such circumstances.”
