EFCC Graduate arrested by EFCC over love scam

The EFCC have arrested a young man over an alleged love scam to the tune of N2m.

A graduate of the French department, Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over an alleged love scam.

The spokesman for the commission, Wilson Uwujaren, disclosed this in a statement on Friday, November 11 in Abuja, Punch reports.
The suspect identified as Damilola Fasakin, allegedly posed as Anthony Miller, Dave Mason and Bright Washington to deceive and defraud unsuspecting ladies on the Internet.
Punch reports that Fasakin defrauded unsuspecting victims to the tune of N2m.
“At the point of arrest, EFCC operatives recovered one Dodge Caliber Sxi car with registration number EKY-145EC and an NYSC clearance/discharge letter.
“Other items recovered from him are three copies of fake international passport data pages with different names and pictures, two drivers’ licenses and suspected fake bank documents,” Uwujaren said.
The spokesman alleged that Fasakin used fake international passports to collect his loot at the Moneygram desk with the help of bank officials who are alleged to have collected 10% on each transaction.
Punch reports that, following a series of investigation, the commission discovered Fasakin's fraudulent activities.
Uwujaren said the suspect would be arraigned in court upon the completion of the investigation.
