Mikel has been training hard to make an impression on Conte and the manager says he is pleased.
Despite not making an appearance yet for Chelsea, this season, John Mikel Obi conducts and performances in training have pleased his manager Antonio Conte.
Mikel Obi is yet to play for Chelsea this season after returning from the 2016 Olympic Games where he won bronze with Nigeria U-23 team.
Mikel has been training hard to make an impression on Conte and the manager says he is pleased.
“It’s
normal in every squad there are players that arrive at the end of their
contract and then together with the club take a decision,” Conte told reporters ahead of Everton’s visit in the Premier League.
“For me, the most important thing is
that Mikel is working very well now because in the past he had some
injuries. Now he is working very hard and I’m pleased with his work-rate.”
Chelsea host Everton in the Premier League on Saturday, November 5.
