Ojougboh also blamed Mimiko for allegedly imposing Eyitayo Jegede on the people of Ondo state.
The Ali Modu Sheriff faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has blamed Governor Olusegun Mimiko for the failure of the party to grab the Governorship seat in the just concluded election.
Sheriff’s faction also said
Mimiko’s acts of impunity gave room for the poor performance of the PDP
in the Ondo governorship election.
According
to Punch, the Vice-Chairman of Sheriff’s side, Dr. Cairo Ojougboh
blamed some PDP Governors of imposing their candidates on the people.
Ojougboh said “In choosing a candidate
to succeed him, Mimiko did not allow the PDP members to buy forms. He
mainly anointed Eyitayo Jegede (SAN) who was returned unopposed.
“Party
members cried to high heavens that Jegede is from the central zone
where Mimiko hails from. Their cries fell on deaf ears.”
