Avong Jesse Magaji (born  Dec 30th, 1996), who sings under the mononym VONJAY, is a Nigerian rapper, singer-songwriter and performer from (Kaduna State).He started his music career at high school when he join a music group. In 2012, he started writing rap songs in Kaduna, his debut singles "IS OKAY" , MERCEDES MONEY" and "RESPECT ON MY NAME" has made waves through the street. He was inspired by different artist to pursue his music career, likes of  Yung6ix, Davido, Wizkid, Phyno ,Ycee and Tekno.

Life and career

VonJay was born and raised in Kaduna, were he completed his Basic education at St Annes Nusary and Primary School. He went on to complete his secondary education at Faith Academy. Currently he is studying Ports and Shipping Administration in Regional Maritime University(R.M.U) Ghana. He grew up in a Church setting, and became interested in music while in high school.He wrote his first song in his fourth grade. In 2012 VonJay  as a song writer, singer and rapper prior to his music career Join a music group in Kaduna known as Day One Family(D.O.F). His songs are produce by "TEAMBEEKAY" mix and mastered by "METRO".
    His educational engagement  has also been a source of inspiration despite the fact he took time off music after gaining admission into Regional Maritime University. VonJay believes in Positive Mind as he is currently working on his new release "MY E.P"
