Army promotes, decorates 227 officers

Not less than 227 Army Officers were on Thursday decorated at the Defense headquarters in Abuja.
This is following the approval of the Army Council on the 9th of December 2016.
The promotion, which was in three categories, had 21 Brigadier Generals promoted to Major Generals, 93 Colonels to Brigadier Generals and 113 Lieutenant Colonels to Colonels.
The annual promotion exercise is meant to reward qualified personnel who have distinguished themselves over stipulated period of time.
The promotion exercise is also meant to re-energise the beneficiaries towards the discharge of their onerous tasks and responsibilities.
In attendance to grace the ceremony are the families, friends and well-wishers of the promoted Senior Officers.
