Mikel Hasn’t Agreed Four-Year Deal With Valencia – Agent

Contrary to reports circulating in online media that John Mikel Obi, Super Eagles captain, has agreed a four-year deal with Valencia of Spain, his agent, John Shittu, has debunked the claim.
It was earlier reported that Mikel is on his way to La Liga side, Valencia, in the January transfer window having agreed a four-year deal but Shittu said that the information is wide of the mark.
As first reported by allnigeriasoccer.com, it is correct that the Chelsea midfielder is attracting huge interest from Los Che but it’s still the same old story, with the Spanish club yet to meet his wage demands.
It is understood that Valencia offered Mikel approximately three million euros wages per season, to be specific €2.8 million, far less than Mikel is demanding and his take home pay at Chelsea.
“It is not true that Mikel is joining Valencia on a four-year deal, the information is not correct,” John Shittu told allnigeriasoccer.com.
AC Milan, Inter, Juventus and Marseille have been credited with an interest in Mikel, who has played nonstop at Chelsea for the past eleven years.
The 29-year-old has held talks with representatives of Chinese clubs Shanghai Greenland Shenhua, Guangzhou Evergrande, Hebei China Fortune and  Beijing Guoan over a transfer this month.
