"Stranger Things" star Caleb McLaughlin had a funny thing happen on his way down to the subway ... an encounter with our TMZ photog, who was itchin' to know about Season 2.
Caleb was in NYC Friday and played it cool ... dropping a morsel but holding the big stuff close to the vest.
