Dammy Krane Hypertek Digital parted ways with singer for breaching contract

Dammy Krane has been in the news of recent for not the most pleasant of reasons. The promising singer who came out as a promising talent was snatched up by 2Baba’s Hypertek Digital in 2012 after witnessing a performance of him at a birthday party.
Krane’s smash hit ‘My dear’ brought him to the limelight, and kept rising from there.
However, things seem to have gotten awry when he decided to breach his contract with Hypertek by collaborating indiscriminately with artists, a source told The Punch’s Saturday Beats.
This eventually led to him being shown the exit door in 2015 after he refused to heed several warnings by the label. The news was however not made public officially as the label was trying to build a reputation and did not want to dent it. They also wanted to save Dammy Krane’s face, the source explained.
Krane’s exit was what led him to find sponsors in the U.S to help promote his new materials.

His Usual Suspekt affiliation with Davido's DMW imprint was nothing but a co-sign with no official sign on to the DMW camp.
“Dammy Krane had left Tuface’s Hypertek record since February 2015. Tuface is trying to build a reputable company and they do not want any negative news. That is why they did not announce his exit from the label. They had issues with him over the way he was doing collaborations with other artistes. It was not part of the contract that he signed, so technically it is a breach of contract. They gave him several warnings which he did not adhere to, so they had no choice but to terminate the contract that they had with him. They did not make any noise about it because they did not want anything that would dent his image and that of the company. He was in the US to get new investor to help his career and also shoot some videos because he already had new material. He was also meant to use the opportunity to embark on his US tour,” the source said.
