Music star to surprise fans with something big

Nigerian music star Phyno has released the album art of his sophomore project The Playmaker. The 20-track album is laden with A-list collaborations, as expected, and we honestly can’t wait for its release. Music veteran and ace broadcaster Onyeka Onwenu features on track 15 off the album, a song titled Ochie Dike (Mama) as well as Burna Boy who appears twice on the album, Olamide, Mr Eazi and 2baba among others.

His latest moniker is Eze Nnunu, an Igbo phrase which means king of birds. As a young lad, Chibuzo dreamt of flying. He initially wanted to become a pilot, his family however wanted him to become a medical practitioner even though he ended up studying Public Administration at the Institute of Management And Technology in Enugu. He dropped his first album No Guts No Glory in 2014 to widespread acclaim. Following the success of Ghost Mode, a hit song off the No Guts No Glory album, Phyno and Olamide collaborated on an album titled 2 Kings, which dropped in April, 2015, though it was not so favourably received. Though not the initiator of Igbo rap in Nigeria, Phyno is the most renowned and successful rapper in that faction of Nigerian music.
